Despite the wettest walk day for seven years thousands of people turned out for the 15 mile Wirral Coastal Walk on Sunday 21st. May 2006, one of Merseyside's biggest charity events. It has been estimated that over 4,000 walkers took part this year.
We estimate to have raised over £330,000 for around 400 charities!
The organisers, the Rotary Club of North Wirral, wish to thank all those who walked and showed such enthusiasm and dedication in the heavy rain to raise money for their chosen charities. Also thanks must go to Unilever the sponsor of the event and those organisations without whose support and cooperation it would not be possible to put on this event, Wirral Council, Mersey Ferries, The Spaceport Seacombe, Wirral Rangers, Bebington CVS, St Johns Ambulance and Raynet.
